Béatrice Bissara

Béatrice Bissara explores "the doors of perception and beyond" or an "ecology of consciousness" through different artistic proposals of sensitive exploration, "sculpted" paintings with a meditative effect, synesthetic installations and books-whispers and mysteries. Her concept of "Ecology of Consciousness" is part of a broader questioning raised by the Anthropocene and which questions the vision that man has of the world, the place he occupies, and the links that unite him to the cosmos.

By creating links between Body-Space-Time and Consciousness, it questions the evolution of the relationship that man has with the world and the progressive questioning of a dualistic vision of a dominant Western world where man is separated from nature in favor of a more cosmological vision where man is no longer the center of the world. This vision is traditionally present in certain tribes and relayed today by the scientific world thanks to discoveries in many fields, such as astrophysics, neuroscience, biology.

Whether it is sculpture, painting, installation with light, or/and kinetic and sound devices, she specifies: "In my work, I experiment with these temporal, poetic and immersive processes so that art becomes an experiential "moment", capable of redefining, or even breaking down the limits between body, space, time and consciousness."

Inspired by the pointillism method - widely used by the Aborigines - Béatrice Bissara reveals the meditative and hypnotic dimension of the pictorial gesture through her series of works on canvas entitled "Horizons".
